Training visa
For occupational training to improve your skills, for professional development, or where training is needed for registration in your occupation.
From 12 November 2026, applicants will generally need to be outside Australia both when they apply and when the visa is decided, unless they belong to a group the Minister has specified. Talk to us before then if you are in Australia.

People sponsored by an approved organisation for a structured workplace-based training program or professional development.

Key requirements
- An approved sponsor nominates the training program
- The training is genuine and structured
- Functional English for some programs
