How the deadline is counted
Time limits for review run from the day you are taken to have received the decision. Under the Migration Act this is usually:
- Email or ImmiAccount: the end of the day the decision was sent.
- In person: the day it was handed to you.
- Post to an Australian address: 7 working days after the date of the letter.
- Post to an address outside Australia: 21 days after the date of the letter.
Judicial review in the Federal Circuit and Family Court runs from the date of the Tribunal’s decision, usually 35 days. If your time is short, contact us today.

Don’t wait until the last day. We can check your deadline and options, and lodge the review for you.
